Due to COVID-19, the adult leaders have decided to CANCEL summer camp for 2020. We are deciding an alternative the troop can do during the week of summer camp. Thank you
Although everyone had fun at camp, there were a few special people that earned some awesome achievements! 5 people earned the camp Iron Man award! That included a 10K mountain bike ride, a 5k run/walk, and the Mile swim which was 32 laps down and back! The 5 people that won this awesome achievemt were Ryder S, Matt S, Dr. Drew S, Andrew D, and Nathan F! Great Job Guys! there are some other people we would like to recognize for doing the mile swim are Jonathon J and Lucas J! Some scouts also recieved awards at closing camp fire. Jack H won the best scout in the Handicraft lodge and Ryder S won the Badon Powell Award for Troop 232! Way it go guys!!
From Earning merit badges from having togo into shelter due to a tornando warning, summer camp was super fun! The troop stayed on Saturday at an Indian Muesum in Amarillo built by scouts. The next day we traveled to Colorful Colorado for a week of fun at Peacefull Valley Scout ranch! Durning the week, scouts had the chance to earn merit badges, advance ranks, and meer new scouts from diferent state! Whether it was seeing the mountains, eating good food, walking over 10 miles each day, swiming in the pool, or playing GaGa ball, everyone had a bunch of fun!
The troop had a special campout where we cleaned out the cabin!! The storage room of the cabin was cleaned out and is more organized. Even though it rained, we still had a bunch of fun! We played hide and seek around the cabin and other fun games! That was a fun campout!
Troop 232 went to Winter Camp from December 27 – 31, 2018 at Camp Trevor Rees-Jones in Athens, Texas, which is Circle Ten Council’s single largest camping event. Winter Camp allowed scouts in Troop 232 to have four nights of camping that included advancement opportunities and special fun activities staffed by the Order of the Arrow Mikanakawa Lodge of Circle Ten Council.
